About Essex Vermont

Essex, Vermont is located east of Burlington between the majestic Green Mountains and Lake Champlain. Essex, which includes Essex Junction, is a modern urban community that displays a friendly Vermont character. The town has a nationally recognized school system which helps make Essex a great place to live. Recreation

Essex and Essex Junction offer many recreational facilities. They have an 18-hole golf course, numerous tennis courts and 27 parks. The town has trails for cross country skiing and both indoor and outdoor skating rinks. The Vermont Voltage professional soccer team is also located in Essex.

Events are organized every year at the Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex; many of which are seen as a tradition to the community. The Champlain Valley Antique Festival takes place annually in October. Over 2,000 antique dealers from New England and the Atlantic States come to the festival with 18th and 19th century furniture. The Champlain Valley Fair takes place in late August – Labor Day. This is Vermont’s largest fair and hosts a variety of special events, competitions and shows.
 
Business

Essex Vermont has a booming business community. It is located in an area that gets a high volume of traffic. The Burlington airport is nearby, and Montreal is located to the north of the town on I89. IBM and other well known businesses are located in Essex.
